Kurdistan Region Delegation Meets Kurdistan Governor
On Thursday evening, May 22, 2025, in the capital Tehran, the Kurdistan Regional Government delegation, headed by Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil and including Dr. Ali Tatar, Governor of Duhok, Dr. Haval Abubakr, Governor of Sulaymaniyah, and Nuxsha Nasih, Governor of Halabja, met with Arash Zarehtan Lahoni, Governor of Kurdistan.
During the meeting, which was attended by the Head of Region-Iran Relations, the heads of the Chambers of Commerce of Erbil and Duhok, the Head of the Haji Omran International Border Crossing, and the KRG Representation in Tehran, both sides emphasized the advancement, improvement, and strengthening of trade and industrial movement in all sectors, and the development of relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
For his part, the Governor of Erbil, on behalf of the Kurdistan Regional Government delegation, thanked the Governor of Kurdistan, for his preparations and organization of the third meeting of the border province governors from the Kurdistan Region and Iran, held in the city of Sanandaj.
Following this, both parties expressed their satisfaction with the understandings and agreements signed between all seven provinces. They also considered it essential that their relevant sides work on implementing the terms in the near future.
Then, discussion was held regarding the organization of the fourth meeting of the border province governors, and they decided that it would be held next year in the city of Sulaymaniyah.
