Erbil… New Indian Consul General Received

Today, Wednesday, May 28, 2025, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, welcomed Brijesh Kumar, the new Consul General of India in Erbil, at the Governorate Office.

During the meeting, the new Indian Consul thanked the Erbil Governorate for the reception, cooperation, and facilities provided. He wished for the continuation of this cooperation and also referred to the historical relations between the two sides.
For his part, the Governor of Erbil, on behalf of the government, the governorate, and the people of Erbil, congratulated the new Indian Consul on assuming his duties. He also showed his readiness to further strengthen relations between both sides in all fields and provide necessary facilities and assistance from the Erbil Governorate in required areas.

During that meeting, the development of relations between the Kurdistan Region and India was discussed, and both sides expressed their desire for further advancement of relations and the expansion of bilateral cooperation and coordination.
