Erbil and Duhok Governors Visit Amed's Historic Walls

Within the framework of their official visit to Diyarbakir and their participation in the "Social Peace and Freedom Forum," on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, and Dr. Ali Tatar, Governor of Duhok, visited the great walls of Amed, which are one of the region's ancient and important archaeological sites and are known as a civilizational and historical symbol of the city.
 

During their visit, both governors closely observed the historical and architectural aspects of the walls and emphasized the importance of preserving ancient monuments and developing cultural relations between both sides.
