Erbil... Launch of the Bilingual (French - English) Program
On Tuesday evening, June 2, 2026, in the presence of Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government; Alan Hama Saeed, Minister of Education; Safin Dizayee, Head of the KRG Department of Foreign Relations; Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil; Patrick Durel, French Ambassador to Iraq; Yann Braem, French Consul in Erbil; and a significant number of specialists, language experts, university professors, educational supervisors, and students, the launch of the bilingual (French - English) program, organized by the Danielle Mitterrand International School in Erbil, was announced.
During the ceremony, emphasis was placed on the program's importance in advancing the education and learning sector in the capital, Erbil.
For his part, the Governor of Erbil, while commending the director, teachers, and supervisors of this project, wished success to all participants and students. He stressed that linguistic diversity and openness to global languages are important steps towards raising the academic level of future generations and strengthening Erbil's position as a cultural and educational center in the region.
It is worth noting that this bilingual (French - English) program offers a new and important opportunity for students to develop their abilities in two of the world's most important languages simultaneously with official languages.
