Erbil Receives Delegation of Business Leaders and Companies from Mersin

On the morning of August 12, 2026, Hemin Qadir, the Deputy Governor of Erbil, accompanied by Brigadier Khasro Ghazi, Director of Internal Affairs, received a delegation of business leaders and companies from Mersin, Turkey. The delegation included representatives from various economic, service, and general trade sectors.
During the meeting, the Deputy Governor welcomed the guests and emphasized the importance of strengthening the economic, trade, and investment ties between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey.

He noted that cooperation between companies and entrepreneurs from both sides can create new opportunities for investment and economic growth.
 

The Deputy Governor further highlighted that since the liberation of Iraq, Turkish companies and investors have played a leading role in the reconstruction and development process of the Kurdistan Region, and specifically in Erbil, by participating in a significant number of economic projects and activities.
 

For their part, the delegation expressed their readiness to bolster trade relations and develop investment opportunities in Erbil, aiming to expand economic and commercial cooperation between the two sides.
