Erbil … Reviving the Environment Day

On Wednesday, February 22, 2023. In the presence of the Governor of Erbil, Omed Khoshnaw, the head of the Kurdistan Region's Environmental Protection and Improvement Board, Abdulrahman Sadiq, and a large number of environmental activists, the Kurdistan Region's Environmental Protection and Improvement Board held an environmental event in Hawar Park in Bnsalawah Subdistrict, in celebration of Environment Day in Erbil Governorate.

During the ceremony, Dilshad Hirani, Director of the Erbil Environmental Office, gave a welcoming speech and emphasized the importance of educating students and the general public about the importance of environmental preservation, not throwing dirt, and animal protection.

The governor of Erbil then spoke on this occasion about the history of this day, emphasizing that environmental protection is part of patriotism as well as the morals and beliefs of our Sharia.

Omed Khoshnaw stated that we must remove environmental protection from the realm of slogans and make it a way of life in every home, school, office, and market.

In addition to planting trees, the participants released a number of birds.

At the end of the ceremony, a number of environmentalists were honored.
