Erbil Citadel... A ceremony for the Nashville delegation was conducted

On the 21st of May, 2023. the Kurdish-American Friendship Association hosted a dinner for a high-level delegation from Nashville, including members of the city council, the board, and the chairman of the board of Nashville's sister city with Erbil, in the presence of Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw, Safeen Dizayee, Head of Department of Foreign Relations - Kurdistan Regional Government, Deputy Consul General of the United States in Erbil, and a number of other parliamentarians, mayors of Erbil's central and plain areas, Khabat, the head of the KDP faction in the provincial council, some members of the provincial council, general directors, officials of government offices and institutions, and a significant number of artists and guests.

The Governor of Erbil welcomed the delegation and expressed his satisfaction for the arrival of the Nashville delegation to Erbil and their meetings about the roadmap of the process of recognition of sisterhood with Erbil.

He also emphasized the importance of developing contacts and working for coordination between Erbil and Nashville, and hoped that the Nashville delegation would take advantage of their visit's agenda and appreciate this ancient city that is thousands of years old and has the world's oldest monuments.

Finally, he praised everyone who helped bring the idea of sisterhood between Erbil and Nashville to its current level.
