Governor of West Azerbaijan (Urmia) Arrives in the Capital, Erbil
Today, Sunday, July 27, 2025, Omed Khoshnaw, the Governor of Erbil, welcomed Reza Rahmani, the Governor of West Azerbaijan (Urmia), and a high-level accompanying delegation in the capital city of Erbil.
In a meeting, the Governor of Erbil, while extending a warm welcome, expressed his pleasure at the visit of the Governor of West Azerbaijan (Urmia) and their accompanying delegation to the capital, Erbil. For his part, the Governor of West Azerbaijan (Urmia) thanked the Governor of Erbil for the reception and emphasized the further strengthening of relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
It is worth noting that a broad meeting is scheduled to be held this evening, supervised by both governors and attended by senior delegations from both sides.
The discussions will focus on strengthening trade activity and conditions at the Haji Omran-Tamarcin international border crossing, the agreement between them, and the issue of receiving Iranian pilgrims for the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein as they travel through the Kurdistan Region to the holy sites in Iraq. The pilgrimage is scheduled to begin early next month via the Haji Omran international border crossing.
