Erbil and Duhok Governors Arrive in Amed on an Official Visit

This evening, Monday, May 11, 2026, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, and Dr. Ali Tatar, Governor of Duhok, arrived in Amed upon the official invitation of the co-mayors of Diyarbakir Metropolitan Municipality. They were warmly welcomed by Ayse Serra Bucak Kucuk and Dogan Hatun, co-mayors of Diyarbakir (Amed) Metropolitan Municipality, and their accompanying delegation.

This official visit aims to participate in the "Social Peace and Freedom Forum," which is scheduled to take place from May 12 to 16, 2026, under the slogan "Together" (Bi Hev Re) in the city of Diyarbakir (Amed).

The main goal of the forum is to create a common language of hope, build peace, and bring together diverse voices.

The activity program includes several workshops, panels, exhibitions, concerts, and commemorative marches in the fields of education, art, rights, women, and ecology.

The participation of the Governors of Erbil and Duhok in this event is considered an important step within the efforts to develop and strengthen social and cultural relations.
