The Minister of Municipalities and Tourism and the Governor of Erbil met with the Erbil Municipal Council

On Thursday, February 2, 2023. Sasan Awni, Minister of Municipalities and Tourism and Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, met with the Chairman and members of the Erbil Municipal Council.
The meeting discussed the work and activities of the Erbil Municipal Council and focused on the development of service projects, the Minister of Municipalities and the Governor of Erbil reaffirmed their full support for the municipal council.

In another topic of the meeting, the Minister of Municipalities and Tourism and the Governor of Erbil discussed the importance of the role of the municipal council and praised their work in completing the transactions and affairs of citizens and solving their problems, they hoped that as last year a large number of problems have been solved, this year we expect more work from the municipal council to serve the citizens.

Also for the further revival of Erbil and serve the citizens ،They also emphasized the need to improve the work of municipal institutions and service offices in order to further revive Erbil and serve the citizens, and it was pointed out that all service institutions should be in the best way and according to laws and guidelines.

It is worth mentioning that the Erbil Municipal Council consists of the first officials of the offices of Erbil and on the recommendation of Mr. Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Professional and public organizations, trade unions and civil society organizations are represented in the council, which works to enforce the law, protect public property, facilitate the provision of services and resolve citizens' cases, after 18 years, the municipal council was re-established in Erbil as the first city in the Kurdistan Region and held its first meeting on October 8, 2020.
