Nechirvan Barzani: I extend my condolences to the families of the victims of the earthquake

Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) President Nechirvan Barzani in a tweet sent his condolences to the families of the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and North Kurdistan.
This morning February 6, 2023. An earthquake measuring 7.8 magnitude on the Richter scale jolted 10 cities in Turkey and North Kurdistan, followed by 32 aftershocks.

The quake was felt in Iraq, the Kurdistan Region and three other countries in the region.

Barzani tweeted: “My thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the earthquake that struck our region early morning,”

President of the Kurdistan Region extend his condolences to the victims’ families and loved ones, and he also said : “wish a quick recovery to the wounded,”

The quake caused heavy damage to lives and property, several buildings collapsed and a large number of citizens were trapped in the rubble.
