Erbil Governor: Last year (1086) projects at a cost of (284 billion 373 million 295 thousand dinars), were implemented in Erbil governorate

Today, Wednesday, February 8, 2023, Omed Khoshnaw, the governor of Erbil, after two years of assumption of office as governor of Erbil, in front of the president and members of the Erbil provincial council and in the regular meeting number (105), he presented the work and projects of 2022 and the work plan and program of Erbil governorate within the framework of the development projects of Erbil governorate for this year.
 

In the meeting, he thanked the support of Mr. Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, The governor of Erbil, presented a report on all the projects and works implemented in Erbil governorate during the past year on the development budget and the governorate's emergency in different sectors and the implementation of several other strategic projects by the ministries. He also pointed to the construction of several water ponds in different parts of Erbil governorate and said: In 2021, we have carried out several service projects at a cost of (28 billion) dinars, at that time, the autonomous administration of Soran was administratively part of the Erbil Governorate, For the past year, the amount of our projects has tripled, including four districts of Soran The governor also discussed about the implementation of service projects in 2022 in all districts of Erbil governorate, Said: “ In 2022, (132) service projects worth (84 billion and 644 million dinars) have been implemented in Erbil governorate on the governorate development budget, and 45 incomplete projects at a cost of (24 billion and 608 million) dinars have been completed, these projects were part of the projects that belonged to previous years and were left during the financial crisis. The governor also revealed that 390 projects have been implemented in the surplus and emergency budgets of Erbil governorate at a cost of (14 billion 89 million 649 thousand) dinars.

Also several other projects have been implemented on the budget of the Ministry of Interior and the revenue of the Erbil Traffic Directorate, including the construction of several pedestrian bridges in the main streets of Erbil, in addition to the implementation of (74) projects on the revenue of 15% of the Presidency of Erbil municipality and the General Directorate of Municipalities at a cost of (15 billion 502 million 336 thousand dinars), most of the projects were paving and repairing roads. Also, 210 projects on 8% of electricity revenue have been implemented in Erbil governorate at a cost of (18 billion 759 million dinars), with regard to combating drought, several projects have been carried out at a cost of (12 billion 876 million 72 thousand dinars) such as drilling (130) new wells and providing continuous electricity through private generators in the neighborhoods and resolving technical problems and deepening most of the wells.

The governor of Erbil said: “The total number of projects carried out in Erbil last year (1086) projects at a cost of (284 billion 373 million 295 thousand dinars) were carried out.” In another part of the meeting, the governor of Erbil presented the details of how to compensate the victims and the preparations of the governorate to prevent floods and face the dangers.

Finally, the governor of Erbil, about the plan and program of work for 2023, said: According to the plan and preparations in Erbil for the projects of this year 2023, we will implement several other service projects in Erbil.

Then the members of the council were given the opportunity to ask questions and present their comments and suggestions were answered by the Governor of Erbil.
