US Consul General in Erbil: We support the Kurdistan Regional Government in implementing economic reforms

On Tuesday, February 21, 2023, the US Consul in the Kurdistan Region, Irvin Hicks, emphasized that his country will continue to support the Kurdistan Regional Government to implement economic reforms.

"The United States will continue to support democracy in Iraq," Irvin Hicks said, while delivering a speech at the Catholic University in Erbil, calling on "the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government to fight corruption and protect the rule of law."

He added, "The United States supports the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government to implement economic reforms and diversify sources of income and the economy."

He pointed out that "the United States will continue to support the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government in implementing the economic reform agenda, diversifying sources of income, and strengthening the private sector."
