The Governor of Erbil receives the Philippine Ambassador to Iraq
The Governor of Erbil, Omed Khoshnaw, received, today, Thursday, January 25, 2024, at the governorate’s office, the Philippine Ambassador to Iraq, Christopher P. Castillo.
In the meeting, the Philippine ambassador expressed condolences to the Governor of Erbil and the people of Kurdistan for the victims of the terrorist attack on Kurdish businessman Peshraw Dizayee's residence.
The ambassador appreciated the efforts of the civil defense and health teams in Erbil for investigating the fate of the Filipino citizen among the victims and treating the injured impartially. He also requested a detailed report on the specifics of the terrorist incident.
The Governor of Erbil, for his part, extended his condolences to the Philippine Ambassador to Iraq, noting that Filipino citizens were among the victims of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard's terrorist act.
The Governor of Erbil praised the Filipino community in Erbil and stated that after the procedures are completed, they will be provided with a detailed report on this terrorist act, indicating that there will be no distinction between the victims and that Filipino citizens will be treated equally with other citizens in the region.
