Erbil Governor and Najaf Governor Discuss Developing Relations

On Monday, May 18, 2026, Omed Khoshnaw, the Governor of Erbil, received Yusuf Makki Kanaw, the Governor of Najaf, and an accompanying delegation in Erbil. The delegation included Faruq Ghazali, Tayf Hatami, Fazil Fitlawi, Majid Abidi, Zaid Shamkhi, Anwar Osman, Muhammad Ali Muhammad, members of the Najaf Provincial Council, and other officials from the province.
 

During the meeting, after welcoming the visiting delegation, discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations between the two provinces. Emphasis was placed on the importance of exchanging experiences, developing joint cooperation in various service and development sectors, and maintaining stability and peaceful coexistence.

In response, the Governor of Najaf thanked the Governor of Erbil for the reception and expressed his pleasure with this visit to the capital Erbil and the promotion of relations between them.

This meeting is part of the ongoing efforts of the Erbil Governorate to build strong bridges of communication with all Iraqi provinces with the aim of better serving citizens.
