On the Citadel... A special ceremony was held for the full moon
On Wednesday evening, September 18, 2024, with the presence of Omed Khoshnaw, the Governor of Erbil, and Jean Brême, the Consul General of France in Erbil, along with a number of representatives and envoys from other countries and consulate staff, the French Institute in Erbil held a special ceremony for observing the full moon and conducted several other activities related to this occasion.
It's worth noting that the full moon, occurs when the moon is at its closest point to Earth while also being full. During this time, it appears 30% larger and its brightness is twice that of a regular full moon, giving it a special beauty. It has been visible in this manner in the sky over Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region.
