Oshnavieh… Erbil Governor visits the City’s Governor

On Friday, May 2, 2025, during his visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, along with an accompanying delegation, visited the Governor of Oshnavieh city. They were received by Seyed Ali Torabi, the Governor of Oshnavieh, and other city officials.

During the meeting, the Governor of Oshnavieh first provided a general overview of the city and region's history from cultural, artistic, intellectual, and tourism perspectives. He then focused on their area's industry, agriculture, economy, and trade.
 

For his part , the Governor of Erbil wished him success and prosperity. On behalf of the Erbil Governorate and the Kurdistan Regional Government, he extended his thanks to all the people of Oshnavieh city, recalling that during difficult times and the displacement of people from the Kurdistan Region, Oshnavieh and other cities in Rojhelat (Eastern Kurdistan) had served as havens for them.
 

He also stated, 'We will not forget the hospitality of our brothers and sisters in that city, even during the great 1991 exodus, and we regard it with respect and gratitude.'
