Meeting Between Kurdistan Region and Islamic Republic of Iran Businesspeople

This evening, Wednesday, September 24, 2025, a meeting was held between businesspeople from the Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as companies participating in the "Seventh International Exhibition for Industrial and Construction Materials."
 

The meeting was attended by Dana Abdulkarim, Minister of Reconstruction, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, Faramarz Asadi, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Shakir Hussein, Head of Relations between the Region and Iran.
 

In the meeting, the Governor of Erbil, in a speech, while welcoming the Iranian businesspeople to Erbil city, emphasized advancing, improving, and strengthening trade and economic movement between the Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran, and hoped that trade and economic relations would further develop.

He also commended the participating Iranian business companies in the "Seventh International Exhibition for Industrial and Construction Materials" and highlighted the progress and developments in trade relations between the Kurdistan Region and Iran.
 

He also expressed his pleasure that a large number of Iranian companies always participate and have an impact in exhibitions held in Erbil, which is evidence of the advancement of trade and economic relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
 

The Governor also emphasized the importance of the agreement between Erbil Governorate and other provinces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which has facilitated the work of the Chambers of Commerce and businesspeople on both sides, leading to significant progress and further growth in trade and economic activity. On this issue, he thanked all individuals and parties who played a role in the signed agreements and understandings, especially the agreement between Erbil and West Azerbaijan (Urmia).
 

Finally, he hoped that the sessions and meetings between businesspeople from both sides and their gatherings would lead to further advancement of trade and industrial relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
