Erbil's governor has officially invited several US congressmen to visit the capital

On Friday, September 8, 2023, as part of his visit to the United States, Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw met with US Congressman Andy Ogles about the relations between Erbil and Nashville, accompanied by Trifa Aziz, Kurdistan Regional Government Representative in the United States, and her accompanying delegation.

During the discussion, the Governor of Erbil, while emphasizing the strengthening of relations between the United States and the Kurdistan Region, briefed on his travel to the United States and the signing of the sisterhood agreement between Nashville and Erbil, and he officially invited US Congressman Andy Ogles and several other US congressmen to visit Erbil.

The meeting also covered the most recent developments in Iraq and the region in general, particularly the recent events in Kirkuk, the budget issue, and the obstacles that exist between Erbil and Baghdad.

Finally, the governor praised the United States' support for the Kurdistan Region and the establishment of democracy in the Kurdistan Region, and he thanked the United States for its assistance and support to the Kurdistan Peshmerga Forces in the fight against ISIS terrorists. And he also emphasized the importance of maintaining US support for the Kurdistan Region in order to stabilize the region.
