Erbil… The Czech Republic's Water Day ceremony took place
Today, Tuesday, May 13, 2025, a special ceremony for "Czech Republic's Water Day" took place in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region. It was attended by Sasan Awni, Minister of Municipalities and Tourism, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, Begard Talabani, Minister of Agriculture, Haval Abubakr, Governor of Sulaymaniyah, Karel Kortanek, Consul of the Czech Republic in Erbil, the Director General of Water and Wastewater of the Region, the Director General of Tourism, the Director of Water of the Czech Republic, and a number of other water companies from that country.
During the ceremony, the Minister of Municipalities, the Minister of Agriculture, and the Consul of the Czech Republic each delivered speeches. They highlighted the efforts of the Kurdistan Regional Government to protect water resources and water production in Kurdistan.
They also hoped that this meeting, which proves the strength of the relations between the Regional Government and the Czech Republic, would lead to further development of the ties between the people of Kurdistan and the people of the Czech Republic in all various sectors.
It is worth mentioning that water is a powerful factor for peace and coexistence among the peoples of the world. According to international principles, everyone must also be committed to water protection, ensuring the right to provide clean and safe water for all, preventing the pollution of its sources, and its rational use in all fields.
