In Erbil... Winners of the Twelfth International Marathon Awarded by the Governor
On Friday, October 31, 2025, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, after the conclusion of the twelfth international marathon, which was held with the participation of thousands of local and foreign runners of both genders at three different levels and organized by the Erbil Marathon Organization for Sports and Peace, distributed awards to the champions and winners.
The Governor of Erbil, while commending the Erbil Marathon Organization for Sports and Peace and the supervisors of the marathon, congratulated the champions, winners, and participants of the marathon and wished them success and continuity.
It is worth noting that in the marathon, there was a 42-kilometer run in which 400 competitors and athletes participated. Also, in the 42-kilometer run, several well-known athletes from both inside and outside the country participated and circled Erbil's 60-meter road four times. In the 12-kilometer run, there was one lap around the 60-meter road. Simultaneously, a 2-kilometer run was also held, which was primarily for children and families.
