For the First Time in the Capital Erbil, an Open Golf Championship Was Held

This afternoon, Monday, November 3, 2025, with the presence of Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil; Bakhtiyar Farhad, Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government for Sports Affairs; Erman Topcu, Consul General of Turkey in Erbil; Sardar Ismail, Director General of Sports; Rozhgar Mahmoud, Director of Sports in Erbil; the President of the Iraqi Golf Federation; and a number of other athletes and sports enthusiasts, the Iraqi Open Golf Championship began in the capital Erbil in a ceremony organized by the Iraqi Golf Federation in cooperation with the General Directorate of Sports.
 

The Governor of Erbil, while expressing his pleasure at hosting the championship in the capital Erbil, commended the supervisors and organizers of the championship and wished success to the participants.
