UN chief arrives in Erbil

Today, Thursday, March 2, 2023, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres arrived in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, from Baghdad.

Guterres was received by President of the Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani and government officials at Erbil International Airport.

The UN Chief visits the Kurdistan Region from Baghdad following a tour of Iraq during which he met with the three presidencies and the foreign minister.

This morning, Guterres traveled to the governorate of Nineveh to observe the conditions of the displaced in the refugee camps.
