The Governor of Erbil Receives the Japanese Consul on the Occasion of the End of His Mission

Mission On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, Omed Khoshnaw, the Governor of Erbil, received Arakawa Mikihiro, the Consul of Japan in Erbil, at the Governor’s office, who visited on the occasion of the end of his mission.

 

During the meeting, which was attended by Naz Jalal director of Migration and Crisis Management in Erbil Governorate, the Governor of Erbil thanked the Japanese Consul for his work and efforts in promoting relations between the Kurdistan Region and his country, and wished him success in his future duties and work.

He also reiterated the Kurdistan Region's thanks and appreciation to the government and people of Japan, who have always supported the Kurdistan Region within the framework of their assistance and aid. For many years, Japanese agencies and governmental and non-governmental organizations have been working in Erbil, the capital, by implementing service projects, especially the JICA agency, in revising the master plan and the wastewater recycling project for Erbil.

 

For his part, the Japanese Consul in Erbil, while praising the stable and secure situation of the Kurdistan Region and Erbil, the capital, stated that his country views its relations with the Kurdistan Region with great importance. He also thanked the Governor of Erbil for all the facilitation and assistance provided to the consulate, agencies, and governmental and non-governmental organizations of his country, and reiterated that his country will continue to cooperate with and assist the Kurdistan Region.
